LightWave plugins

SpinTris.p (Modeler) |
| The SpinTris.p Modeler plugin will spin the edge of two or more adjacent triangles. Selected triangles on the left of the Y axis will spin their edge and surfaces in a clockwise rotation, and triangles on the right of the Y axis will spin counter clockwise to preserve the objects symmetry. The illustrations below use blue and red surfaces to indicate the rotation. This plugin is primarily useful for fine-tuning low polygon meshes. | |||

CurveToPolychain.p (Modeler) |
Converts multiple curves into chains of 2 point polygons. Primarily useful for making hair guides for Sasquatch. Settings are essentially the same as LightWave's Rail Extrude function, and determine how the chains are segmented. The poly chains can replace the curves, or be created in an empty layer, leaving the original curves intact. Updated to allow Undo of Replace Curves. |

UVnoodlekit (Modeler) |
UVnoodlekit consists of five lscripts for manipulating UV point coordinates. Note that these plugins only affect the point UV coordinates, not the point XYZ position. Requires Lscript 2.6 (Lscript 2.6 is included with the LightWave 7.5b patch) |
| UVpairsymmetryU / UVpairsymmetryV: | |
| Each second point selected in a selection pair is moved to the mirror position of the preceding point, across U (or V in the case of UVpairsymmetryV) | |
Odd point selection on the right, even point selection on the left. Works best if used selectively. Tip: turn on symmetry to automatically select the even points - provided that your model is symmetrical. |

| UVtaut: | |
| Aligns UV points along a line segment defined by first and last points selected | |

| UVevenspace: | |
| Similar to UVtaut, but points will be evenly spaced along the line | |

| UVevenspacepairs: | |
| Similar to UVevenspace, but designed to account for the paired UVs that result from "folding" a UV map (the left half of the face below is flipped behind the right half - useful in game development to optimise texture usage) | |
This image shows the error that happens when using UVevenspace on a folded UV (each visible point is actually two points and are spaced accordingly - destroying the point overlap) |

SmartSubpatch.ls (Modeler) |
SmartSubpatch isn't really that smart (it uses Modelers togglesubpatch command) but applies a few simple rules to the toggling, one benefit being that it can quickly unmix a mixed subdiv/poly mesh. |
| Rule 1: Polygons assigned a "NeverToggle" part name remain unchanged | |
| Rule 2: Explicitly selected polygons are toggled | |
| Rule 3: If no polys are explicitly selected all polys will be toggled | |
| Rule 4: Models with mixed subpatched and face polys will have the subpatching turned off | |

TriCount.ls (Modeler) |
TriCount will display the total and selected triangle count for untripled n-gon meshes, useful for game modelers who prefer to model with quads/n-gons. The script also reports if the mesh contains any 1 or 2-point polys. If your Display Options -> Interface -> Alert Level is set to Intermediate or Expert the tri info is displayed in Modelers status area at the bottom of the Modeler window. |

Mirror Tools (Modeler) |
Mirror Tools is a set of four simple Modeler plugins; Mirror_RtoL.p, Mirror_LtoR.p, Delete_Left.p and Delete_Right.p. The mirror plugins differ slightly from other freely available mirror/merge plugins in that they execute the following Modeler commands; Unhide (to ensure that the entire object is mirrored) / Delete left (or right) half of the object / mirror remaining half / merge central points. The delete plugins function as their names suggest but again, they will Unhide first to ensure that the entire object is affected. Intel version Updated 17.April.03 |

BoneToggle.p (Layout) |
BoneToggle allows global Activation, Deactivation and Toggling of bones in LighWave 6+. Selecting No Change will only have an effect if Record Rest Position is checked, and allows bones to be rested without affecting their current active status. The use of the "Only affect bone if name includes" field should be obvious, leave this blank or check the Affect All box to affect all bones in the target object. |
